Create a new feature for the Lyft app
Problem: Difficulties finding a ride with your pets on ride share apps.
Interviews: We interviewed a total of 24 users of the Lyft app, half being drivers, and the other half being passengers. The initial interviews allowed us to narrow down our focus to passengers and their pets.
Market Research: San Francisco is a pet-centric city with more dogs than kids and even apps focused on everything from pet walking to pet dating.
Persona: Once the scenario was set, we created a persona to have a specific use-case scenario based on a typical user that owns a pet.
Competitive Analysis: The competitors in the ride share industry have a specialize because of heavy competition with Uber. According to passenger and drivers, Lyft’s competitive advantage is the community and relaxed environment.
New Feature: In order to take advantage of Lyft’s focus on community and the overall “relaxed” environment felt by both drivers and riders alike, this would be a great opportunity to include our furry friends.
User Flow: This was created primarily in-line with the current flow of how the app currently operates, while highlighting the new feature and how it would be integrated.
Initial Wireframe: This is a direct mockup of the original user flow in order to visualize the process to best highlight the new feature.
Mockup: This is a snapshot of our hi-fidelity mockup that was used for testing purposes.
Final Wireframe: After initial testing we updated a few things such as the pop up box and the setting preferences needed to be more obvious.
